Behaviour Procedures

Positive Behaviour Approach

At Hukanui we believe Positive Behaviour for Learning initiatives help parents, whānau, teachers, schools/kura  address behaviour, improve student's well-being, and increase educational achievement.

By strengthening relationships and creating more positive home and school environments, we remove barriers.

All schools have discipline and behaviour issues from time to time. Managing behaviour relies on consistently applying strategies to promote positive student behaviour.

Individual programmes and strategies for challenging students are devised with parents and staff, and outside agencies if necessary, and these students are dealt with individually.

Restorative and Reflective Thinking

Here is an example of our junior behaviour reflection form.  Students are guided through questions to help them reflect on their behaviour and problem solve to choose a better strategy. Click on the above tab to view other reflection forms
